The Beautiful by Nature Turks and Caicos Islands

Experience the best of the Turks and Caicos Islands with us

Our resort makes for the perfect base to explore the delights of the Grace Bay area in Providenciales

The Turks and Caicos Islands have emerged as a favorite destination for those who enjoy uncrowded pristine beaches, fantastic water sports (including world renowned scuba diving), an unhurried pace, and first class amenities. Visitors can experience a true Caribbean holiday without the crowds and high rise development that other islands have experienced in recent years.

The Turks and Caicos are actually a string of 40 islands and cays (pronounced keys – small islands), only eight of which are inhabited. Providenciales – known as Provo – is the main island in the chain and is where international flights arrive (at the Providenciales International Airport). This is where Royal West Indies is located. Provo’s most famous and popular feature is its Grace Bay Beach – a sweeping 12-mile stretch of dazzling white sand on the north side of the island that rims the truly unbelievable aqua marine waters of Grace Bay. The third largest coral reef system in the world lies just offshore, protecting the national park beach area inside it, and providing a bountiful environment for divers and fishermen.

The Turks and Caicos are a British Overseas Territory (so we drive on the left!), but North Americans will find it familiar. The US dollar is the official currency (banks and ATMs are available nearby, and most establishments take major credit and debit cards) and everyone speaks English – although you will hear Creole, French and Spanish, owing to our proximity to other islands. Phone, electrical and television services are based on US standards, and you can even watch your favorite TV shows here on the local cable operator (available in all rooms at Royal West Indies).

Grace Bay is the heart of Provo with most of the restaurants, spas, shops, banks, and other activities located within walking distance of this main stretch. There are a variety of things to do in the immediate area, but it is far from over-developed and you’ll find it an enjoyable place to stroll from your accommodations at Royal West Indies. See the Activities area of our web site for more info on what to do during your stay with us.
